RETURN & REFUND POLICY
1. Your 14-Day Right to Withdraw
Under the 2026 EU Consumer Rights Directive (as implemented in OUG 34/2014), customers within the European Union and Romania have a 14-day "cooling-off" period.
- Global Extension: We extend this 14-day window to all our customers worldwide.
- The Window: You have 14 days from the physical delivery of your order to notify us of your intent to return, no justification required.
2. How to Exercise Your Right
- Before June 19, 2026: Email us at contact@mandatoryitems.com with your order number.
- After June 19, 2026: In compliance with EU Directive 2023/2673, we provide a mandatory "Withdraw from Contract" button in your customer portal. This function allows for a frictionless, one-click withdrawal process as required by law.
3. Condition of Items & Hygiene Exceptions
To qualify for a full refund, items must be returned in their original condition (unused, in original retail packaging, with all manuals/accessories).
- ⚠️ Hygiene Exception (Art. 16, OUG 34/2014): For health and hygiene reasons, in-ear headphones (earbuds) cannot be returned if the protective factory seal has been broken or if the product shows any signs of use. If the seal is intact, the return is fully accepted.
4. Return Shipping & Costs
- Change of Mind: The customer is responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods.
- Defective or "Not as Described": Mandatory Items covers all costs. If your tech gear arrives non-functional, we provide a pre-paid label or a 100% refund/replacement after video verification.
5. The "Green Return" Option (International Only)
For customers outside the EU (USA, Asia, etc.), shipping high-value electronics back to Romania is often slow and costly.
- The Green Alternative: Instead of shipping the item back, we may offer you a partial refund (50-70%) and you keep the product. This is entirely optional and aims to reduce the carbon footprint of international logistics. You always retain the right to ship the item back for a full refund if you prefer.
6. Refund Timeline
- Approval: We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return (usually within 3 business days).
- Payment: Refunds are processed within 14 days of your withdrawal notification, though we may withhold the refund until we receive the goods or proof of return shipping.
